From the bench
Marcus Maximus Mera mastered the intricacies of jewelry manufacturing under the tutelage of the world-renowned jeweler George Kocsis. He continued the study of fine jewelry fabrication by working with exclusive jewelers throughout New York, while simultaneously using advanced 3D technology — fusing old-world techniques with new-world tech.
That background, coupled with an innate creativity and a keen sense of precision, made him one of New York’s sought-after jewelers. His earlier biography describes a workshop on 47th Street in the heart of New York City’s Diamond District.
Select pieces include Madonna’s diamond eyelashes for her 2006 tour (Shu Uemura) and pieces for Lazare Kaplan and Alexis Bittar. Harry Winston, Van Cleef & Arpels and L’Oréal are direct clients of his jewelry work, and in 2016 collaborated with tattoo artist Paul Booth on a horror-themed jewelry line.
To digital production
The precision of the bench carried naturally into 3D. As a collaboration partner of Cygnus Entertainment, Marcus contributed as a producer and 3D artist to Colossal Cave 3D, the reimagining led by Ken and Roberta Williams, released on Steam in January 2023.
Today, through Guillotine and Guillotine Games™, he is directing MYSTERY HOUSE® 3D, a modern reimagining of Roberta Williams’ 1980 adventure, and SPACE QUEST®, an original science fiction adventure. Guillotine, the brand he founded and leads, brings video game production, fashion and jewelry together under one creative vision.
Beyond the studio
Marcus describes volunteering at a soup kitchen in Trenton and teaching 3D modeling and oil painting with the Trenton Community A-Team. Read about the community work →
